The Lost Footage: Grey Poupon’s Clever Campaign Extension

Grey Poupon has done it again. And this time, at the Oscars.

A smart media buy, Grey Poupon takes their comically snooty campaign to the next level. “The Lost Footage” adds intrigue to the campaign by airing a teaser of how the original, 1981 spot ends. And by airing only once, Grey Poupon adds excitement to their current campaign, while pointing you to their site for the spot’s finale.

Five broccoli sandwiches go to Crispin Porter + Bogusky for this idea. The agency brilliantly stayed on par to the current digital campaign without reinventing the wheel.

Props also to the Hungry Man for smoothly recreating a spot from over 30 years ago. Way to go.
